It all started right after my HD melt down back in 2009. I started to craft mask after mask and only two -counting this one- I actually liked. But, as many things before my thesis I left it unfinished for the following 3 years. Not proud of that!

Last May I was kindly invited to participate on an exhibition of colombians in Mexico city and since the piece had to be new I felt it was the right chance to finish what I started ;)

This one took me a whole week on and off not counting the days of preparation, searching for the right plants, preparing the mask etc.,

Thanks to Raquel for being my model again!

  1. So much work goes into your art, makes me look like a slacker compared to you! Really love this Marcela, congrats!

  2. I can’t tell how much your work impressed me! Every new piece of part fascinates me! You push Photoshop out of its boundaries! You’re kind of genius for me, i’m honest! Just a question which material do you use to create your masks? thanks very much. Gwladys Rose

I can not say this enough but you ARE my FAVORITE artist! Your art work is so breath taking to me and has even gotten me out of some tuff times in my life. And yet I am only 16 soon to be 17. I have already decided that I would LOVE to donate my right arm to your art work. Which means soon enough my whole right arm will be tattooed of one of your art peices. Your art means alot to me and again helps me through my tuff times when I feel as low as death and cutting. Thank You so so so much for what you do. I cant wait to see more(: – YOUR BIGGEST FAN ANTHONY(:
